The Rangers were in first place all by themselves for 161 games, and then yesterday the A's won the AL West. The Yankees avoided a collapse for the ages by clinching another AL East title last night. And the Nationals -- yes, the Nationals -- secured the best record in baseball (98-64) with a win yesterday. However, special props need to be given to Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera, who became the first player in 45 years (and 15th in MLB history) to win the Triple Crown, finishing with a.330 batting average, 44 home runs and 139 RBIs. Check out the cool moment when Tigers manager Jim Leyland pulled Cabrera from last night's game so he could celebrate his achievement. Nice job by the Kansas City crowd giving Cabrera the much deserved standing ovation.
